Some of the Basics of Web Design

To break into the field of web design and really do well with it, you will have to self educate yourself as much as you can as well as possibly taking courses, classes or tutoring. There are tricks of the trade and tips that you can learn that will further allow you to master the art of web design.

Web design is a very financially rewarding business to be in and at the same time, it is exciting, fun and enjoyable. You will never get bored when you are in the web design field.

If you want to have success and a good reputation, there are several things you should be aware of in order to achieve these things. First of all, web surfers/users are very picky and impatient. They want instant gratification and if they don't see what they want to see right away, they will not spend another moment on that website. Taking this into account, you will want to make sure that all the important info is at the top of the page or somewhere that the visitor can see immediately.

Be aware that if a website does NOT meet a person's expectations within the first few seconds, the web designer failed to do a proper job because the user will just click the back button or type in a new search in their tool bar. Users also don't always make optimal choices. What I mean by that is that users don't usually search for the fastest way to find the info they are looking for and they sabotage themselves by settling for the first thing that comes along. As soon as they see a link or an opportunity to go where they want to go they will leave whatever site they're on and move along.

The business part of web design is also very crucial. Email hosting in particular is a very important and valuable resource nowadays and there is an explosion of demand for email services and the amount of people who are sending and receiving emails every day is growing.
You will always want to leave an email link on a site that you design.

If you implement all of these concepts in your web design, you will have a lot of success. Good luck!
