When comparing HostMonster to the other leading companies, we found that most of them offer pretty much the same thing! They all offer unlimited hosting space, unlimited domains and unlimited bandwidth. As far as that goes, they seem the same if you ask me or anyone on the street. As far as the pricing goes, they are all about $6.95 a month with a few different variations on pricing and different package deals. Some of them have a $4.95 a month deal and even a $3.95 per month web hosting plan, but it requires an upfront payment for a certain amount of time.
As far as the quality is concerned, again it's pretty darn close. The hosting plan that has the best quality for the lowest price would have to be HostMonster. However, if your issue is budget and you need the very cheapest web hosting possible, a cheaper web hosting service might be your route. Normally, there uptime is at 99.9% or more at all times. Occasionally, a web hosting company can have a bad month if there was a hacking attempt or another serious server issue that comes up. HostMonster had a bad month in August of 2008 because of a server upgrade and other important maintenance. However, in October they had a perfect month with 100% uptime.
One thing that separates them from the other hosting companies is that they offer unlimited PoP/email accounts. I think one of the other ones I mentioned offers 2,500 email accounts which is still a lot, but it's not unlimited.
